Automotive Series Chop Cut Rebuild Comes to Laramie

Dan Woods WYOTECHThe television series “Chop Cut Rebuild” has begun production on their newest season featuring WyoTech here in Laramie, Wyoming.  Over the course of the next several months, a national television production crew will shadow and film WyoTech students as they restore an old Ford pickup truck to being show quality.

WyoTech Laramie students and staff have already begun the process of completely tearing down a 1953 Ford F-100 pickup, and in the coming weeks will work on the truck’s bodywork, upholstery, an engine and transmission mockup, and more.

For those unfamiliar with Chop Cut Rebuild, Chop Cut Rebuild  shares with household viewers the latest tools, professional techniques and tricks of the trade in a unique and “real life” format. Through WyoTech Laramie’s automotive and custom fabrication facilities, which includes modern tools and equipment in step with many of today’s successful shops, students will show off their advanced skill sets learned through WyoTech’s educational curriculum and professionalism development, giving students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills to an international television audience. This season of Chop Cut Rebuild will premiere on MAVTV (a Lucas Oil-owned network) in July to households across the United States.

While many of you are already familiar with Dan Woods and Chop Cut Rebuild this is not his first acting job.

 

Many television viewers are familiar with his work in Degrassi: The Next Generation  which was shortened to just Degrassi in the show’s 10th season.  Degrassi is a Canadian teen drama television series set in the Degrassi universe that was created by Linda Schuyler and Kit Hood in 1979.  It was the fourth story in the fictional series  in the Degrassi franchise and like its predecessors, Degrassi: The Next Generation follows an ensemble cast of students at Degrassi Community school who face various teen challenges like peer pressure, teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and a number of other issues.

Woods stopped by the studios of Hits 106 and talked about Chop Cut Rebuild, the reputation of WyoTech and about the business of restoring a Ford F100 to show quality.  The entire interview that originally aired Friday, March 21st on Hits 106 follows in its entirety.
