Members of the University of Wyoming community are invited to a reception for former Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration Neil Theobald Thursday, Jan. 13, from 4:45-6 p.m. at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center’s Legacy Hall.
The reception is hosted by President Ed Seidel and UW’s Board of Trustees.
Theobald has moved to a new role in UW’s College of Education — executive professor in the School of Counseling, Leadership, Advocacy and Design — aimed at raising the attainment of college degrees and workforce credentials across the state. In addition to leading a degree and credential attainment initiative involving numerous partners, he will teach in the educational leadership and administration programs.
Theobald had been UW’s senior vice president for finance and administration since July 2020, after serving as the university’s acting president for one year. He came to UW as vice president for finance and administration in 2018, after two decades as a tenured professor at Indiana University, where he served in a number of administrative roles — senior adviser to the president (2017-18), senior vice president and chief financial officer (2007-2012), senior vice chancellor (2002-07) and director of the Indiana Education Policy Center (1993-2002). From 2012-16, he was the president of Temple University.
“We invite everyone to come and pay their respects to Neil, thanking him for his administrative work that helped guide UW through some difficult times and wishing him the best in his new position,” Seidel says.
