The Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Wyoming invites university students to participate in “Swishes for Wishes” a 3-on-3 basketball tournament benefiting Make-A-Wish® Wyoming.
Swishes for Wishes will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, from 4-7 p.m in the MAC Gym of the Half Acre Recreation Center located at 1000 E. University Avenue in Laramie. Teams will be broken up into girls and boys divisions and each team can have up to four players. Team registration is $30 total, or $10 a person. T-shirts are available for a presale price $12 on the Swishes for Wishes support page.
Spectators are invited to attend the event for $3, and do not have to be a University of Wyoming student to attend as a Swishes for Wishes spectator. There will be beverages and pizza available for purchase during the event. The chapter will be accepting donations for Make-A-Wish Wyoming throughout the week and during the Swishes for Wishes event on Friday.
“Chi Omega is honored to support Make-A-Wish Wyoming again this year during our spring philanthropy, Swishes for Wishes. We feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to work with this incredible organization and to be able to give back to the Wyoming community that has been so wonderful to each of us,” said Abbey Kersenbrock, University of Wyoming Chi Omega Marketing Chair.
This is the first year that Chi Omega at University of Wyoming is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to fundraise for Make-A-Wish Wyoming. Previously, the chapter has been directly involved in the national Macy’s Believe Day campaign featuring a letter writing initiative benefitting Make-A-Wish Wyoming.
