It was announced by the FCC yesterday that 3 companies will get $12 million from the FCC to grow broadband service to rural Wyoming over the next 10 years.
Tri County Telephone, Union Telephone and Inventive Wireless, also known as VistaBeam will expand services in 7 counties, including right here in Albany County.
FCC Chariman Ajit Pai said “It’s critical that rural Wyomingites have the same access to digital opportunity that their urban counterparts do”
The expanded service will reach more then 4,7000 homes and businesses. 2400 people were surveyed state wide and 27 percent of respondents said they lacked reliable broadband access
