Last night, the ACSD #1 school board voted unanimously to start a girls softball team at Laramie High School. To add to it all, the Wyoming High School Activities Association needed 8 teams to commit to softball so they could sanction the sport and LHS Was the 8th team.
So many people showed up for the school board meeting last night they had to move some of them into a second room.
One of the concerns early on was budget and it’s estimated the first year of LHS Softball would cost around $36,000 with subsequent years costing just under $28,000. Softball organizers are willing to make a pledge for start up costs and develop fundraising through a booster club.
