City Landfill Expansion Project To Proceed

A contract worth more then $4 million has been awarded to Weeden Construction for the second phase of the Landfill Expansion Project which was approved by the city Council last week. As part of the project, 3 additional geosynthetic lined cells will be added to the one that already exists, giving the city 15 years of additional landfill space. That contract is worth $3.9 million with a nearly $600,000 contingency. A professional services agreement worth just over $250,000 was awarded to Trihydro which involves their services during the project including quality assurance, construction oversight and program compliance with the State Revolving Funds loan that is paying for the project
