Wyoming Department of Transportation Crews have been working hard to clear the road over the Snowy Range Mountains aiming to have the road open by Memorial Day Weekend.
Each year crews begin working to clear the road in late April or early May depending on weather conditions. The process from start to finish takes approximately 4 weeks.
Work this year has been moving quickly this year according to Matt Murphy, Public Relations Specialist for WYDOT District 1. “There haven’t been many ice chunks as the crews have been working which helps the process move faster” said Murphy.
The Road is expected to be open in time for Memorial Day weekend and the Saratoga Crew has already moved over to work on clearing WYO70.
