The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Hits 106 listening area for 12 midnight Tuesday night March 12 (Wednesday Morning March 13th) until 6pm Thursday March 14). Heavy snow is possible with the forecast calling for 12-20 inches of accumulation. Locally in the City of Laramie, they’re calling for 12 to 17 inches of snow during this Winter Storm Warning with the bulk of it coming during the day on Wednesday into Wednesday night which is also when the winds will be the strongest, wind gusts could be up to 55mph. The wind will start picking up during the day on Wednesday and be the fastest Wednesday afternoon into Thursday daytime. Travel could be difficult to near impossible and this Winter Storm Warning does include I80 between Laramie & Elk Mountain. Visibility could be reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times Wednesday afternoon.
