Stricter alcohol related rules proposed for Laramie

Even more may be made later in the year at another meeting

On Monday, Laramie’s ad hoc alcohol committee voted to recommend that City Council adopt stricter rules for a number of alcohol related issues.

Recommendations the committee made include restrictions on late night drink specials, an increase in fines for using a fake ID, an increase in compliance checks and use of ID Scanners along with a requirement that businesses participate in tavern meetings to discuss alcohol issues.

More recommendations are likely to be made at the groups November 25th meeting. The city council is required to act or not act on the recommendations and would also be responsible for crafting the specifics of each proposal
