On October 5, 2017 between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, a dog bite occurred on the new walk path in the area of 15th and Beaufort.
The victim was bitten on her right thigh by a black and tan German Shepherd named Zeus. The German Shepherd and a medium-sized, overweight, black dog, were both off leash at the time. The dogs were accompanied by three females in their 20’s who were riding bikes on the path. One of the females had blonde hair and was wearing a green hoodie.
The victim spoke briefly with the females, but did not realize the bite had broken the skin so did not get any identifying information from them. She last saw them in the area of 15th and Reynolds.
Authorities are trying to locate the dog in question for rabies monitoring purposes.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this dog or the dog’s owner owner is asked to call the Animal Control Unit at 721-5385 or the non-emergency Dispatch line at 721-2526.
The Animal Control Unit would like to remind everyone that animal bites could involve exposure to rabies and that all animal bites must be reported to the Animal Control Unit immediately.
