Disaster Workers and Equipment Deploying to Texas Gulf Coast

The American Red Cross of Colorado & Wyoming is sending equipment and disaster workers to Houston, TX due to potential flooding from Tropical Storm Harvey.

Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) from Red Cross offices in Grand Junction, Northern Colorado and Denver will travel to Houston, TX today. The vehicles and drivers will meet at the Red Cross of Mile High Area building at 1:30 today to coordinated movement to Texas.

The ERV is a primary supply and food distribution vehicle typically operated by two disaster responders. The vehicle can transport food and supplies to local neighborhoods that have been affected by flooding.

Large scale flooding is anticipated from Tropical Storm Harvey across the Texas Gulf Coast. Red Cross is responding ahead of the storm to position resources in the event that people are impacted by the storm
