University of Wyoming Expects Record Freshman Class.

By: Alan Levine

The University of Wyoming is estimating 1,730 freshmen could enroll this semester, which would break the university’s record for the largest freshman class. The estimate comes from looking at class registration, student confirmations and the prospect of more international students registering.

Mary Aguayo, interim associate vice provost for enrollment management and Transfer Success Center director, says although the freshman class might be a record size, the university’s overall enrollment will remain relatively stable. Aguayo says this is because the university also just graduated its largest class this year. She says a strategy is being spearheaded by university President Laurie Nichols and Provost Kate Miller to boost enrollment.
