Laramie Man Arrested for Burglary

On June 7, 2017 a Laramie Police Officer took a report of a burglary that had occurred in the 3500 block of Willett sometime between June 2nd and June 4th.

The investigation continued until June 14, 2017 when 24 year old Steven C. Ruiz was arrested for Burglary (WS 6-3-301).  Ruiz is also charged with Property Destruction (WS 6-3-201B(I)) and False Written Statements to Obtain Property or Credit (6-3-612b).  Ruiz’s bond was set at $1,500.00 and he remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.

Burglary is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($ 10,000.00), or both.

Property Destruction is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($ 750.00), or both, if the cost of restoring injured property or the value of the property if destroyed is less than one thousand dollars ($ 1,000.00)

False Written Statements to Obtain Property or Credit is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($ 1,000.00) or the amount of the credit sought or obtained, whichever is greater, or by both fine and imprisonment
