Three hockey players represented Laramie on the Team Wyoming Bantam American team that won the 14U-A High Mountain Shootout Tournament at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City Sunday. Southeast Wyoming was represented by Keegan Miller (defense), Quinn Wahlgren, and Ryan Zafft (forwards), who play on the Laramie Outlaw team, as well as Luke Moore (defense), who plays on the Cheyenne Capitals squad. The team went 4-0 against teams from Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, including two dramatic shootout wins. In the final game, Team Wyoming prevailed in a close-fought game, eventually winning 5-2 against a tough Salt Lake City Lightning Team. Local Outlaw Hockey 14U coach Scott Miller ran the defense. Team coaches also included Wade Grant from Pavillion, WY and Bryan Scheuber (Head) from Sheridan, WY. Team Wyoming is a select squad coordinated by the Wyoming Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) composed of players from all around Wyoming.
