Mosquito Control Along the Big Laramie River

By: Katja Schulz

Ron Blake, Chairman of the Big Laramie Mosquito Control Corporation (BLMCC) announced that aerial application for mosquitoes along the Big Laramie will take place commencing Wednesday, July 6, 2016 weather permitting.

The spray area for the BLMCC encompasses acreages along either side of Hwy 230 from about the 5-mile marker to Woods Landing, including Pahlow Lane and the Harmony area, as well as irrigated meadows along the Laramie River.

Bee Keepers are advised to cover their beehives during the times that planes are in the air.  Residents and homeowners that may have health concerns related to the aerial application of Malathion should stay indoors while the planes are in the air.

Questions about the control program may be directed to Ron Blake at 745-9521 or John Wetstein at 742-8734.

Submitted for publication/broadcasting beginning July 1, 2016.
