May 26, 2016 — Following this week’s town-hall meeting on the University of Wyoming’s approach to budget reductions, UW President Laurie Nichols invites input from the campus community.

People are encouraged to email their comments and ideas to uwpres@uwyo.edu.

The Power Point slides presented by Nichols during the town-hall meeting are available at www.uwyo.edu/president/Outbox/. Recordings of the two sessions of the town-hall meeting also are available there. Because of technical problems, portions of the Thursday morning session were not available via the WyoCast system during the live webcast.

More than 1,000 people attended the two sessions, during which Nichols presented the scope of the budget reduction and broad outline of the budget-cutting approach. The UW Board of Trustees is scheduled to consider the proposal during a special meeting June 15.

“I thank everyone who came out to hear about the task we face and the strategies we’re proposing to allow the university to navigate the state’s economic downturn,” Nichols says. “I appreciate the input I have received, and I look forward to continued interactions with everyone.”

Nichols says she’ll likely hold another town-hall meeting in the summer, as budget discussions continue.
