Cowboy Draw Celebrates Historic Jackpot Win

This week, Cowboy DrawTM took aim at a new record and hit the bullseye with the largest jackpot in the game’s history when a WyoLottoTM player scored with a $1,881,328 ticket.

The winning ticket (advertised at $1,840,000) was purchased on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Flying J located at 2250 Etchepare Dr., in Cheyenne. This was the seventh jackpot-winning ticket sold for Wyoming’s own game, and the second for a jackpot of over a million dollars. The last Cowboy Draw jackpot winner was on October 15, 2015.

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous, but did share that he would like to pay off his mortgage. He had never travelled to Cheyenne before, but drove from Denver to explore the site of the world’s largest outdoor rodeo after seeing a commercial for Cheyenne Frontier Days. He then decided to purchase lottery tickets and was intrigued by Cowboy Draw’s record-high jackpot. Our winner feels very lucky as this was the first time he has played Cowboy Draw.

“It does feel pretty good,” he said about winning the largest jackpot in Cowboy Draw’s history. He also believes that the winnings will make life a little easier after having returned to school and just completed his studies in December. He said he will continue to enjoy the Cowboy State and plans future trips to Cheyenne Frontier Days and Jackson Hole, and he will definitely buy more WyoLotto tickets.

Cowboy Draw made history when it was launched in March 2015 as the first lottery game playable only in Wyoming. Since then, the game’s legend has grown with a wagon train of $1,000 winners and multiple jackpot wins, including a then record-setting million-dollar jackpot in September.

The winning numbers for the drawing on Monday, February 8 were: 3, 7, 15, 22, and 45.

Over the weekend, just prior to the Cowboy Draw jackpot win, a WyoLotto Powerball player took home a $50,000 ticket purchased at Big D Oil at 2901 E. Grand Ave., in Laramie, Wyo.

Powerball’s jackpot has climbed to a life-changing $176 million. In addition to Powerball, WyoLotto players can also join in on the fun of Mega Millions, which currently has a jackpot of $87 million.

Tickets for the Cowboy Draw game are sold only in Wyoming, giving WyoLotto players higher chances of winning prizes. Since the game’s launch, seven lucky players have hit the jackpot and more than 850 players have won $1,000 each. Total winnings for just the Cowboy Draw game have reached over an estimated $8 million.

Cowboy Draw is a draw game similar to Powerball and Mega Millions. Players choose two sets of five numbers ranging from 1 to 45. A player who correctly matches all five numbers is the jackpot winner. Players who correctly match four, three, and two numbers also win cash prizes of $1,000, $20, and $5, respectively. Each $5 ticket provides two chances to win. The weekly drawings for Cowboy Draw will be held every Monday and Thursday at 2 p.m. MST. The jackpot starts at $250,000 and keeps growing until someone wins.
