Partial Building Collapse in Historic Downtown Laramie

Tranquility in Historic Downtown Laramie was disrupted in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 7, 2015 by a partial building collapse but no injuries were reported in the building collapse.

The partial collapse, reported at approximately 6:00 AM, occurred in the 400 block of South Second Street. The Laramie Police Department and Laramie Fire Department responded within minutes to the scene.

The southwest portion of the building has partially collapsed. City Officials are on scene and working with a contractor to analyze the immediate steps to be taken to ensure public safety.

First and Second Streets between Custer and Garfield Streets will remain closed to through traffic until further notice. Streets will re-open when deemed safe to do so. The public is advised to remain a safe distance from the area as this situation is ongoing.
