Kemmerer Game Warden Chris Baird is happy to report, because of local media efforts, the mystery of the four deer carcasses reported and suspected as illegally taken in the Wheat Creek area over the Thanksgiving Holiday has been solved.
“I received a phone call from a hunter who said he legally killed four white-tailed deer in northeast Wyoming and finished processing the deer when he got back to Kemmerer,” Baird said. “The individual read the story in the paper and realized he might have some information for me. We are very thankful to the public for their diligence in watching out for and reporting wildlife crimes. Our local sportsmen and sportswomen care about wildlife and many of our wildlife cases are solved with the help of the public through the STOP Poaching hotline.”
